Jean Weniger is President of Leading Lean, Inc.  Her diverse background has amply provided her the tools and experiences needed to successfully guide you on your Lean journey.

• Leadership, project management, technical proficiency - A mechanical engineer by degree, she spent 7 years in the US Navy, half as a division officer on a ship and the other half as a construction manager in the Navy's Civil Engineer Corps.  After the Navy, she worked for a year as a process engineer at a small Texas Instruments plant in Kentucky, where she was first introduced to Lean.

• Strategic focus - She received her MBA at University of Virginia's Darden School of Business, class of 2000.

• Coach, mentor, team-builder, hands-on Lean tool expertise, understands the cultural complexities of change - After graduating with her MBA, she spent 2 1/2 years in Europe as an internal Lean change agent with Danaher and with their private sister company Colfax.  She developed a cadre of Lean change agents at her 10 European sites in 5 different countries through Colfax's Lean Champion process, which she helped develop.  She personally launched Lean momentum in Colfax Europe by mentoring site Lean facilitators, helping qualify 22 associates as Lean Champions, and leading over 4 Lean Orientations and 36 Kaizen Events over the course of 18 months.

• Operational experience, empathizes with reality of transforming while running the business - As a production manager of a small Colfax plant in Detroit, she successfully launched a Lean pull system in this union site with measurable operational results.  She also mentored a student project team through planning & implementation of the aerospace product value stream.

• Lean transformation architect, Lean leadership coach - Jean is now an external consultant (3+ years) providing Lean transformation leadership in the US and internationally.  She currently works with various sites of an S&P500 diversified manufacturer while also continuing to lead Lean Orientations for her previous employer.
